The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will also release the official NEET answer key 2018 in online mode before the result is announced. The official answer key of NEET 2018, conducted on May 6, 2018, will be released tentatively in the last week of May 2018. The link to the official NEET answer key 2018 will be made available here as soon as it is released by CBSE. Only the answers as displayed on the official answer key of NEET 2018, will be considered for the calculation of final result. Official NEET answer key 2018 will help candidates to correctly determine the marks they are likely to score in the NEET.
A few days before the release of NEET official answer key, CBSE will also release the scanned OMR answer sheets of individual candidates. Candidates will also be given an opportunity to challenge the responses of OMR sheet and even the answers given in the official answer key of NEET 2018 (in case one thinks there are any errors). CBSE will charge an amount of INR 1000/- per answer challenged or per OMR response challenged, which will be refunded in case the challenge is accepted by the CBSE Board. After considering all the challenges made by candidates, CBSE will also release a revised official answer key containing the accepted challenges.
The revised NEET answer key 2018 will be released about one week after the declaration of NEET result, which will be announced on June 5, 2018 tentatively. NEET Question Papers 2018
There will be mainly 12 sets of NEET 2018 question papers, viz. Sets EE/FF/GG/HH, II/JJ/KK/LL, MM/NN/OO/PP, QQ/RR/SS/TT. These test booklets of NEET 2018 will be in English and Hindi languages. The question paper of NEET 2018 will also be available in a total of eleven languages, including Hindi, English and Urdu, along with other vernacular languages such as Assamese, Bengali, Tamil, Gujarati, Marathi, Oriya, Telugu and Kannada. The language in which NEET question paper 2018 is given to a candidate will depend upon the choice of language chosen by the candidate at the time of filling application form of NEET 2018. The question paper of NEET 2018 will contain 180 questions and it will be a conducted out of 720 marks. Four marks will be awarded for every correct response and one mark will be deducted for every incorrect response. How to calculate NEET 2018 score?
Official answer key of NEET 2018 will help candidates calculate the probable marks they are likely to score in NEET 2018 with the most accuracy. Candidates should go through the following procedure to accurately calculate their NEET 2018 score.
- After NEET Answer key 2018 is released by CBSE, candidates must compare the responses as recorded on OMR response sheet (released a few days before the release of answer key) against the answers given in the official answer key of NEET 2018.
- At this point, candidates must match the set/code and language of the question paper with the set/code and language of NEET answer key 2018, with which they are comparing. The sets and languages of the answer keys will be mentioned at the top of OMR sheet and NEET answer keys 2018.
- Now, calculate the number of correct and incorrect responses. In case more than one response is marked for an answer, candidates must consider it as ‘unanswered’. Following marking scheme will be used to calculate score of NEET 2018:

A candidate can get a maximum of 720 marks in NEET 2018, given that there will be 180 questions in NEET question paper 2018. Out of these 180 questions, Physics and Chemistry will comprise of 45 questions each and 90 questions will be asked from Biology.
How to challenge NEET Answer Key 2018?
Official answer key of NEET 2018 will be released in the last week of May 2018. After the release of NEET 2018 answer key, CBSE will open it for challenges by the candidate. The answer key of NEET 2018 will be available for challenging for two days maximum after display of the answer key.
What is meant by ‘challenging the answer key’?
In case a candidate feels that some of the answers as displayed in the official NEET 2018 answer key are incorrect or there are any errors, they can challenge those particular answers. This process of challenging the answers one deem incorrect is referred to as ‘challenging the answer key’. CBSE charges a fee of INR 1000/- per answer for challenging and in case any challenge is accepted by CBSE (i.e. the answer is changed as a result of challenging of NEET answers by the candidate), then the candidate is reimbursed the fee charged from him/her.
Steps to challenge official answer key of NEET 2018
Step1: Click on the link given below. (The link to challenge the key of NEET 2018 will be made available as soon as the answer key of NEET 2018 is released by CBSE).
Step 2: Enter the Login credentials. At this time candidates will be required to enter their ‘Registration Number’ and ‘Password’.
Step 3: Now, Click on ‘Key Challenge’ tab and select the ‘Test Booklet Code’.
Step 4: Select the question for challenge and click on ‘submit’.
Step 5: Select the answer you think is correct and give your comments for more justification (though giving comments is not mandatory).
Step 6: Now click on ‘confirm’ button and pay the requisite fee for submitting your challenge. The fee can be paid online via debit or credit card. For every answer that is challenged, a fee of INR 1000/- per answer will be applicable.
Step 7: Print the confirmation slip indicating the success of payment and the details of the answers which are challenged.
Challenging NEET OMR Response Sheet
Candidates will be allowed by CBSE to challenge the NEET OMR response sheets as well. OMR response sheet is the image of the responses marked by a candidate in NEET answer sheet at the time of examination. NEET OMR response sheets will be made available a few days before the display of NEET answer key 2018. In case a candidate feels that some of the responses as they appear in the image of NEET OMR response sheet are incorrect or an option other than the option marked by them is marked in the image, then candidates can challenge those responses.
How to challenge NEET OMR response sheet 2018?
CBSE gives a window of about two days from the day of the display of NEET OMR sheet to challenge the responses. The link to challenge the OMR sheet of NEET 2018 will be made available as soon as the provision is made available by CBSE.
- Candidates will need to click on the link given below. (The link will be made available when CBSE display the OMR sheets and responses therein on its website).
- Now, they will need to enter their login credentials including Registration Number and Password.
- Now, they can check the scanned images of their NEET OMR response sheets and challenge the responses they feel are marked incorrectly or are not marked at all (compared to the responses marked by them in the actual examination).
- To complete the process of challenging the OMR response sheet of NEET, candidates will be required to pay a requisite fee of INR 1000/- per response challenged by them. In case the challenge is accepted by CBSE, the amount paid by the candidate will be refunded back to him/her.

Candidates will need to score marks equivalent to minimum required percentile in order to qualify NEET 2018 exam. NEET Result 2018
The result of NEET 2018 will be declared by June 5, 2018, about a week after the window for challenging NEET 2018 answer key closes. NEET 2018 result will be released in the form of a rank card which will contain scores of candidates as scored in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany & Zoology) along with NEET All India Rank (AIR) and All India Quota (AIQ) Rank for the qualified candidates. In order to become eligible for further admission and counselling of NEET 2018, candidates will be required to score minimum cutoff requirements as mentioned above.
NEET 2018 is a single window entrance exam for admission to MBBS and BDS courses. It will be conducted on May 6, 2018, and the official NEET answer key 2018 will be released in the first week of June 2018. NEET UG 2018 will be out of 720 marks, including 180 marks for Physics and Chemistry each and 360 marks for Biology. Negative marking will be applicable to incorrect responses.
